One of S.O.L.O.'s main goals is to give back to the communities that inspire our work. Upon the official release of the company's first line, 15% of the company's profits will be reserved to help fund Native-driven organizations that take pride in their cultural heritage while addressing the needs of their community. The first beneficiary of the S.O.L.O. Community Fund will be Wings of America. Based in Santa Fe, NM, Wings' mission is:
"to enhance the quality of American Indian youth. In partnership with Native communities, Wings uses running as a catalyst to empower American Indian and Alaskan Native youth to take pride in themselves and their cultural identity, leading to increased self-esteem, health and wellness, leadership and hope, balance and harmony".
Serving Indian communities since 1987, Wings has fostered the dreams of thousands of American Indian youth. The organizations' all-Native all-star running teams have won twenty Junior USA Cross Country titles in the last twenty-four years. Lead by young Indian athletes, Wings' running and fitness camps get kids moving all over Native America. For more information about Wings' mission and programs, please click here.
